Islamic Civilisation Park
This unique theme park is a way to demonstrate the achievement of Islamic architecture. Besides, it provides an interactive journey of many famous Islamic monuments, including Taj Mahal of India, Al-Hambra Citadel of Spain and 3 others interactive monument. These 5 interactive monuments are among the other 21 mini replica monuments found in the Islamic Civilization Complex, separated from the Public Zone. Public zone houses the most impressive icon of the theme park, which is the Crystal Mosque.
The monument park presents 22 monuments from 21 countries from all over the world across the Asian, European and African continents. There are two monuments which come from the same state; the Masjidil-Haram and Nabawi Mosque. All monuments, scaled from between 1:1.7 to 1:22 compared to the original size, are the important landmarks which marked the arrival, development and glory of Islam in the countries. The materials used to build all the monuments are locally produced.
All the names and information of the monuments are explained in three languages – Malay, English and Arabic. This is to provide information to visitors which come from different countries from all over the world. Other than providing a splendor view of the great architectural elements in the monuments, the park also provides interactive activities in the selected five monuments. B’beteng has two sections, and they are the Bbeteng Restaurant and Laman Selera. For visitors looking forward to a delectable culinary experience, this a perfect place for them. It is located beside the Terengganu riverfront and the guests will be able to enjoy the picturesque view of Kuala Terengganu City and Duyung Island. The restaurant serves various ranges of dishes from traditional Terengganu delicacies.
The Crystal Mosque of Terengganu is the icon of Taman Tamadun Islam and Kuala Terengganu City-the Waterfront Heritage City. It is considered unique as it is the first and only mosque builds from steel and glass hence the crystal-like image. The mosque was constructed between 2006 and 2008. It was officially opened on 8 February 2008 by 13th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin of Terengganu.
Sitting atop the surface of the Terengganu River, this magnificently mesmerizing mosque is truly a sight to behold. With beautifully crafted frosted glass windows and meticulous calligraphy, it instills in the visitor a sense of serene and peaceful piety. As a place to worship Him, it is precisely this that is seeked: an ambience that puts you in a peaceful state of mind.
700 Muslims are able to prostrate themselves in prayer in the designated prayer hall which measures approximately 950 square feet. This comfortable hall is made even more so as it is fully air-conditioned and equipped with modern amenities.
