The Breeze Beach Club

Located at the poolside of the Pacific Sutera Hotel. The Breeze’s menu ranges from freshly baked breads, which are known to be some of the best in town; and grilled specialities to Spanish cuisines and refreshing ice-cold mocktails.

Specialities of The Breeze include its many types of breads which are rarely available elsewhere, such as the Moroccan bread that goes really well with a serving of hummus. If you fancy finger foods while waiting for dinner, opt for a plate of delectable tacos or tapas with guacamole.

A lounging session by the seaside can never be complete without a glass of refreshing fruit juice. Do try The Breeze’s Slushy Granitas that consist of yummy fruit drinks such as the blueberry apple drink and other fruity mixes. Can’t get enough of sweetness? Be sure to order a side of dessert, like the mango sago pudding with vanilla ice cream on top!

Suffolk House

Suffolk House was built on a vast pepper estate owned by Captain Francis Light (1740-1794), founder of the British port settlement of Penang.  He lived here with the woman he loved, Martina Rozells.  Martina was of mixed Portuguese and Siamese descent and was reputed to be the adopted daughter of the Sultan of Kedah.

Over the years, the house was altered many times, evolving from a colonnaded Anglo-Indian mansion to a tile-roofed bungalow and eventually a school before falling into ruin.

Old paintings show that the garden was like an English park.  A list of the plants that originally grew here was discovered some years ago and these are being replanted.  They were all plants native to Penang so form a priceless record of the islands botanical heritage.

Suffolk House Restaurant has it’s own culinary and service merits being consistently one of Tatler’s Best Restaurants, but it is also an integral part of Suffolk House.

Since the early 19th century, Suffolk House has been known for it’s entertaining and social gatherings, and today is no different.

Offering lunch and dinner in the grand ballroom, we also serve our ever-popular high tea on the North Terrace.

The Ship Restaurant

The Ship gained the reputation of serving The Best Steak In Town, which essentially was the great food, well served under a unique decorative setting and on top of that all prices are value for money. The unique exterior of its restaurant resemble an almost life-size hull of a ship, and on stepping inside one will be impressed with the finely recreated likeness of a sea-going vessel.

Complementing the theme is service provided by captains and crews in maritime uniform. Such is the attraction of The Ship that it is common for foreign visitors of the country to seek its whereabouts. The Ship has, by word of mouth, contributed in making Malaysia a popular tourist destination. This, too, is just another indication of The Ship sailing on to greater heights. If imitation is a form of  flattery, The Ship must be doing something right, because many others have since followed suit with western restaurants sprouting up everywhere.
